Our customer is in search of a motivated Civil Engineer who is adept in the areas of water, wastewater, stormwater, and roadway design. The perfect applicant will possess robust engineering competencies. They will be responsible for executing engineering designs within a specific discipline to ensure project objectives are met, adhering to the allocated budget and timeline from the project’s commencement to its conclusion. The role may entail acting as an Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager for moderately scaled, clearly defined projects, or as a Senior Technical Engineer in their field of expertise on other projects. The individual will independently carry out designated projects and segments of larger projects, applying their advanced skills, methods, and practices.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in civil engineering
  • Possession of a Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • Skilled in the use of digital design software (AutoCAD, GIS, REVIT)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the requirements for permits and funding agencies
  • Exceptional communication abilities, both written and spoken
  • Outstanding capability in resolving problems
  • Effective management of time
  • Driven by self-motivation and a keen interest in professional growth
  • A current driver’s license and a legally insured vehicle are essential

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Guarantee the design work is complete and precise.
  • Offer guidance to the project team, which may include various professionals and support staff, aiding in goal setting and achievement.
  • Deliver expert technical input to projects for design decisions, action plans, and review processes to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Adhere to all regulatory and permit-related requirements.
  • Draft a range of documents, including project reports, proposals, cost estimates, bidding materials, and permit applications.
  • Convey the project’s scope and strategy in proposals.
  • Maintain project timelines and budgets, alerting the Project Manager to any potential changes in budget, scope, or schedule.
  • Formulate and execute plans to secure ongoing work from core, emerging, and private clients, while honing business development and sales skills.
  • Potentially act as the point of contact for a select group of clients.
  • Possibly assume the role of Assistant Project Manager.
