How Maple Leaf Foods Manages Content for the Food Service Industry
Anyone in the food industry will tell you that its a fast paced and intense environment. You need every edge you can get, and if you aren’t paying attention to both technology and consumer trends you’ll quickly be left behind.
Maple Leaf Foods is one company that gets it right. Not only do they stay on top of consumer facing trends, the company also caters to those in the foodservice industry and ensures that they have everything they need to do their jobs from information, to products to in depth business solutions.
So when we were initially approached by Maple Leaf Foods to help with an application related to their foodservice arm, we were thrilled to take it on.
Here’s how we worked with the company and the end results.
The team at Hardboot was asked to to takeover the development of a DotNetNuke based Content Management System (CMS) for Maple Leaf Foodservice. The company had begun development of the platform but quickly realized that they didn’t have the internal resources to deliver the project on time, and under budget.
Having extensive experience working with cross-disciplinary departments at large brands, the team at Hardboot was quickly able to jump in and take the reigns.
Timelines were tight, but through meeting with the right people at Maple Leaf Foods we were able to identify high priority activities and features, and resolved any potential roadblocks almost immediately.
Once we determined exactly what was needed, we created a fully functional CMS that made things easy for both Maple Leaf Foods employees and their audience. After rigorous testing to ensure every “i” was dotted and every “t” crossed, we launched mlfoodservice.ca which quickly became the ‘one-stop shop’ for foodservice industry pros.
